HAZEL MARIE SATTERFIELD's Obituary
Hazel Marie Satterfield 95 & 9 months died Thurs, Nov. 1, 2007 at home in San Bernardino, CA from complications of diabetes. She was born Jan. 22, 1912 in Creighton, MO to John T. & Edna May Sloan. She was 2nd oldest of 7 children. Hazel completed high school with the graduating class of 1930 in Harrisonville, MO. She married Bural W. Satterfield Feb. 26, 1933 and came to Calif. in 1938. They had 2 children. Leota Harris and Richard Satterfield, they divorced in 1961. Hazel then took up nursing and healthcare for 24 years, retiring in July 1980. She belonged to many social clubs: Ladies Society of Locomotive Firemen & Engineermen; Silver Strands Grandmothers Club; Uptown YMCA Travel Club; Valley Women’s Club; Degree of Pocahontas and pokie-dids. Hazel was baptized a member of Mt. View Church of Christ. Survivors include her children, a daughter Leota and son Richard wife Donna; 1 sister, Inez Edwards of Pittsburg, MO., seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Chapel service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007 both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Interment will be at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton.
