Harold Truitt Westbrook II's Obituary
Harold Truitt Westbrook ll, business owner and lifelong resident of San Bernardino passed away Sunday April 14th 2024 at St. Bernardine’s hospital of a heart attack. He was 80 years old.
Survivors include his wife Penny, his sons Trey Westbrook, David Westbrook, his daughter Michellle Westbrook, and his sister Ann Botts and her husband Bob Botts. Truitt had eight Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.
Truitt, fondly known as Sonny, was born at St. Bernardines hospital in San Bernardino on March 7th, 1944. He graduated from Pacific High School. He then immediately joined the Army National Guard. During that time he was chosen for a special team to respond to the Watts Riots in Los Angeles. He was also a decorated marksman during his military time.
Truitt then enrolled in San Bernardino Valley College where he would meet the love of his life, his future wife, Penny. Truitt had been working for his parents moving and storage business since he could answer a phone and push a broom but as a young married man he made it a full time position working side by side with his father.
Truitt and his wife Penny went on many wonderful convention trips with his parents, sister Ann and brother in law Bob.
Truitt enjoyed building airplane models, camping with his sister in laws, brother in laws and nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed traveling with close friends.
He was a dedicated lifelong member of the Kiwanis club, San Bernardino chapter. Truitt volunteered working local Basketball tournaments with Kiwanis for many years to help serve the youth of San Bernardino.
Truitt was also a Master Mason and a Shriner.
Truitt spent his retirement enjoying taking cruises, taking care of his yard, enjoying his family and most of all spending time, taking care of and loving his beautiful wife Penny who he was married to for 57 years.
The family suggests memorial donations are made to the American Heart Association.
