Glenn Roy Stewart's Obituary
Born in San Bernardino, California to Roy Ables Stewart and Martha Genevieve Stewart. He had three older sisters, Barbara, Marian and Eleanor. The Stewart family were charter members of Calvary Baptist Church in San Bernardino.
Glenn was involved in sports growing up. Track, basketball, football and his all time favorite, baseball.
Glenn graduated from San Bernardino High School and Valley College. He held many jobs as a young man, including working at a chicken ranch, at his brother-in-law's masonry business, and at a "service station".
After college Glenn worked at Triangle Rock Products as a mechanic. He was promoted several times, his final job title was Equipment Superintendent. Eventually Triangle was bought by Owl Rock, the company he retired from in 1991. After retirement, Glenn worked as a consultant for a couple of years before completely retiring.
During Glenn's early career he met and married the love of his life, Glenna Lucille Shawhan. They were married for 69 years until Glenna's passing in 2022. They had five wonderful children, Randi, Lori, Marti, Julie and Scott, twenty grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Glenn spent many a day coaching his children's ball teams, he taught them all to drive and made sure his family was well taken care of.
Glenn had many hobbies, cars being #1, with his favorite being his 1930 Model A. He and Glenna were members of the Paradise Valley Model A Club. The Club kept them active with meetings, parades and special events. Glenn collected watch fobs and antique telephone pole insulators. Other hobbies included stained glass creations, and the daily crossword. And he loved watching baseball, being a long time Dodgers fan.
Always the jokester, Glenn had lots of humorous stories, jokes and sayings, which his children and grandchildren often repeat.
Glenn will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He left a wonderful legacy of love and laughter.
He was a kind, sweet, gentle soul. Fondest farewells to you Glenn.
