Gil Allen's Obituary
Gilbert William Allen 1934 – 2012. Gil completed his journey and is on his way to heaven.
He lived in Beaumont, California, with his wife Lois of 36 years. He was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Gilbert and Magdalen Allen. Gil, along with his sister Margaret and brother Robert, grew up in Beverly Hills, California. He attended Beverly Hills High School and went on to graduate from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.
In 1954 he set off to attend San Francisco Theological Seminary earning his master Degree. Gil became a Presbyterian Minister and started out as an Associate Pastor at Beverly Vista in Beverly Hills. After becoming ordained, his first church as a Pastor was in Pacoima, California. He then started a Presbyterian Church in Huntington Beach, California and finally moved to San Bernardino, CA in the late ‘60s where he was the Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.
Gil entered into the business world in 1982 working for Kimstock Inc, in Santa Ana, CA; Clarion Manufacturing in Marble, PA and lastly with Lasco Bathware in Anaheim, CA. Gil retired from Lasco Bathware in January of 2012.
When Gil and Lois married in 1976, he had four children from a previous marriage; Janet, Jonathan, Christopher and Kelly and Lois had three; Kathy, Donald and Kelly. He enjoyed his family life very much, which also includes eleven grandchildren. His faith always remained a very important part of his life.
The family will be celebrating Gil’s life with a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gil’s memory to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
