Kim Bennie
My daughters (10 and 7) and I volunteer every Friday at Brightwater during the activities time, helping residents and talking with them. From the time we began coming (about 2 years ago), Gerry (or "Grandma Gerry" as she liked my girls to call her) was an instant favorite of ours. Her loving personality was infectious. She lit up telling us stories of her husband, how they met, their travels, and their kids. She was particularly proud of her grandkids and loved to tell us about each one: so proud of a grandson serving in the military, a granddaughter and her amazing Irish dancing, and another granddaughter's softball talents. We knew that she loved her family so much and was so proud of them. We loved her too! We miss her every week, as do her friends at Brightwater. What a special woman! We were blessed to know her, but are happy she is at rest and is in a better place with those she loves. Hugs and prayers to all her family.
