GEORGE R. MANZ's Obituary
George Raymond Manz, 71 born in Pittsburg, PA. in 1936 attended North Catholic High School and Duns Business College then entered the Army and was stationed in Frankfort, Germany. Married to beloved wife, Lori for 37 years. Preceded in death by his mother, Lila Manz and father, Raymond Manz. Drummer and band leader and won the award wining best drummer award for the Academy of Country Music in 1977 at Shrine Auditorium. He played all around the Inland Empire, LA, OC, SD areas, He was also an appliance salesman for 50 years. He is survived by nieces, Leilani Arney of Victorville, Lynette Calderwood and Janet Zappia of Idaho; nephews, Steven and David Johnson and Deanna Murphree of TX., Michelle Westbrook of San Bernardino; sister in law, Patty, brother in law, Bill of Sutherlin, OR; 20 great nieces and nephews and 7 great great nieces and nephews; many, many wonderful friends and neighbors He was involved in the Academy of Western Music, P.T Cruiser Club, Elks, Moose Camping Club and North Catholic Alumni. He has 4 children, Jeff of LV, Ron and Sandi of PA. and daughter Christy of Sacramento. Viewing will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA. Church service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2007 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 796 W. 48th Street, San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
