George P. Gonzales' Obituary
George Gonzales Sr., 71, was born in Colton and raised in Amboy. He lived in Highland until his death. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad and retired as Traffic Supervisor for the City of San Bernardino. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2266 and a past Honorary member of the Catholic War Veterans and The Latino Peace Officers. He was preceded in death by his Father, Edward Gonzales Sr., Mother, Josephine Gonzales, Brothers, Edward Gonzales Jr., Joe Gonzales, Sisters, Maxine Mejia and Melinda DeSantiago. He is survived by his wife Olivia Mejia, Sons, George Gonzales Jr. & wife Patricia of San Bernardino, Daniel & (Kaleena) Mejia of Washington, David & (Nori) Mejia of Grand Terrace, Daughters, Debbie Mejia, Diane & (Curtis) Miller, Danielle & (Joe) Castaneda all of Highland, Sisters, Viola & (Leo) Cruz of Loma Linda, June & (Alex) De La Rosa of Highland, Edith & (Jack) Acosta of San Jacinto, Linda Ramos of San Diego, Brothers, Raymond & (Anna) Gonzales of San Bernardino, Tony Tarin of San Diego, Also Sabrina Rust of Yucaipa, Vicky, Michelle and Ceasar Ortiz all of San Bernardino. He had 16 Grandchildren who he adored and many many nephews, nieces, family & friends who loved him dearly. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!!! Viewing will be held from 2-4 p.m. and a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1106 N. La Cadena Dr., Colton. Interment will follow at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery, Colton, CA.
