Mr George Garcia Fernandez Sr.'s Obituary
George Garcia Fernandez, age 73, entered this life on Wednesday March 10, 1943 in the city of Torreon in the Mexican State of Coahuila. He passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home in San Bernardino.
George was a resident of of Pomona for 50 years, making the move to San Bernardino for the last 2 years of his life. He was a self employed certified welder for 40+ years, retiring due to debilitating illness. His hobbies included working on and customizing vintage trucks. He also attained his pilot’s license for small engine aircrafts and had logged 1000’s of hours over the Southern California skies.
George Garcia Fernandez is survived by his children Teresa Padilla of Fresno, CA; George Fernandez Jr. of San Bernardino, CA; Lori Fernandez of Riverbank, CA; Chris Fernandez; Ismael Fernandez of Pomona, CA; & Christina Fernandez of Pomona, CA; brothers Samuel Fernandez of Fontana, CA; sisters Maria De Los Angeles Martinez of El Paso, Texas; and Silvia Fernandez of El Paso Texas; Carlos De La Cadena, Arturo De La Cadena, Jaime De La Cadena, and Oscar De La Cadena all of Torreon, Mexico. and sister Silvia Fernandez of El Paso, Texas; 9 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel with a viewing commencing at 1PM, and chapel service to follow at 2PM, and concluding with a reception.
