Dear Skipper Family ~

I just learned of Garret's passing today. I was shocked and saddened. I will always remember my time spent with him and your family at swim meets and swimming at the club.

I remember Garret as a little shy sometimes, funny, a great competitor and teammate! He will always be 'Nacho' to me!

I send much love and hugs to you - for no matter how long the time has been, that space is always so tough.

"Our Best Friend" January 15, 2019

Having only briefly known Garret his last several years . . .

Garret was always cheerful and supportive, definitely a "good guy" in most
everyone's eyes!

As a college athlete and professional coach, he was a socially intuitive "team player"
for life and always on the winning side!

Unfortunately misled by the conflicting great maelstrom of the world, his need as a person became a sacrifice to an impartial design.

He left the world with a broken heart and us with an empty space where our friend
should be.

ould talk like him for hours. He was always a fun person to be around.

I was lucky to reconnect with him again after so many years since high school. Hanging out, talking about old times in school, seeing the love he had for his nieces & family. The coaching he loved and had a passion for. All good times.

It saddens me to be writing any of this. He was supposed to get old with the rest of us, but instead, here we are. He will definitely be missed.

God bless his family & give them all strength during this most difficult time.
