Frances L. Benjamin's Obituary
Frances L. Benjamin, 90, of Highland, California passed away peacefully at home on November 24th, 2024.
Frances Noah Lou Monroe was born July 8,1934 in Topeka, Kansas at her grandmother's home. Her parents were Olive May Renfro and stepfather Clare Joyce.
During her childhood she lived in Topeka, Atchison, Shannon and Effingham, Kansas. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1952.
On August 3, 1953, she married Jerry E. Benjamin. He was in the Navy, stationed at Alameda, CA. They started their marriage there after his discharge and they settled in San Bernardino, CA. A son Jay and daughter Julie were born, and her life of a mother began.
Jerry started a plumbing business, and she was the bookkeeper, after a few years she quit so she could be involved in church and school activities with Jay and Julie. She enjoyed being a Cub Scout den mother and a Camp Fire leader. She loved her work in the Ministry to the Sick and Elderly at St. Anne's Church. She felt she received far more than she gave. Later she realized that it was the Lord preparing her for her health problems she had later in life.
She loved the times she picked the grandkids up after school and got them started on their homework and projects. Then came practice for sports and swim lessons. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and then came the great grandkids along with one great-great grandchild as added blessings.
Fran preceded in death by her devoted husband of 44 years, Jerry E. Benjamin.
