Elsie Withers Deam's Obituary
Elsie Withers Deam, 92, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away July 5, 2010, at her home. She worked for thirty-two years as a nursing supervisor at Patton State Hospital.
Elsie enjoyed serving her community and beyond. She was a member of the Women’s Club of San Bernardino, the Eastern Star – Gate City Chapter, the Mayflower Club, Daughters of the Nile, the California State Employees Association, the Retired Public Employees Association and the Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints. She served as an ambassador of the San Bernardino International Council, a past-president of the Emblem Club - #178, and Past Grand Deputy and Past-Chief Daughter of the Daughters of Scotia.
Preceded in death by her husband, John William Deam, a son, Arthur Wesley Deam and a grandson, Richard William Dawes; she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Dawes, her son, Jack Deam, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held, Wednesday, July 7, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Avenue. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Montecito Memorial Park, Barton Road and Waterman Avenue, Colton.
