ELLSWORTH Z. HOOVER's Obituary
Ellsworth Z. Hoover, 87, a resident of San Bernardino for over 40 years, died October 13, 2008 of natural causes. He was born July 11, 1921 in Woodstock, VA, the only child of Harry and Fannie Hoover. Ethel Detlefsen became his bride on June 16, 1946. His military service spanned 23 honorable years. During World War II, he served in the United States Air Force earning a “Good Conduct Medal”, “European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon”, “Meritorious Unit Award”, “WWII Victory Ribbon” and the “Army Occupation Medal (Germany)”. During the Koran War he also proudly served his country. Prior to his military service he worked at Consolidated Aircraft Plant in San Diego and subsequently the County of San Bernardino after his retirement from the Air Force. His sons, Steven and Ronald Hoover preceded him in death. Ellsworth leaves behind his wonderful wife of 62 years Ethel, two sons, Michael (Christeen) and Mark (Sally) and two daughters Sherry (Jeff) and Spring. Additionally he was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 8 great grand children. A graveside service will be held on Monday October 20, 2008 at 10:15 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518 Staging Area 2.
