Elizabeth Ann Plott's Obituary
Elizabeth Plott passed away late Monday after spending the preceding days surrounded by family and close friends. She was born in Niagara Falls on the Canadian side and lived her childhood in Buffalo, New York. She left there to attend Oberlin College where she earned a degree in Chemistry. Moving to California, she later earned a masters degree in Social Work from UCLA. She married her husband of 46 years, Thomas Plott, and with him raised 4 children and cared for many in need through their nursing homes and home health agency. She also generously cared for others in need around the world through her medical relief and humanitarian aid ventures, both with organizations such as LIGA that she loved, or through independent efforts she undertook with friends and family. Throughout her life, what was most important to her was spending time, both for usual celebrations and in less structured ways, with her family and friends. She also loved to travel and experience the cultures of others around the world, adventurously reaching some of the most far- flung places on this earth. She was predeceased by her husband as well as her beloved son Tommy, and is survived by her family: daughters Elizabeth Tyler, Sarah Key and Jennifer Potz; sons-in-law Barry Tyler and Kornelius Potz; grandchildren Beth Ann, Joseph Thomas, Elizabeth Rose, Matthew Edward and Jennifer Louise; Beverly Barnett; her loving dog Roxy; and many cherished friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5th, 2011 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404. Memorial Donations may be made to the Mexican orphanage whose children were dear to her heart through Door of Faith Orphanage, P.O. Box 6434, Chula Vista, CA 91909 or to LIGA International, Inc.; The Flying Doctors of Mercy, 1464 N. Fitzgerald Ave., Rialto, CA 92376 to continue the relief work she so valued.
