Elizabeth Howard's Obituary
Bette (Elizabeth) Howard passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, October 15, 2021, at her home in San Bernardino, California. Bette was born March 18, 1922, in Maine; the daughter of John Lang and Elizabeth Kramer. She grew up and attended school in Maine and later married Robert Howard on August 23, 1947. They moved to southern California shortly thereafter where they raised their family of three children; Robert, Gregory and Pamela. Bette worked for Black’s for Men in San Bernardino as a bookkeeper. After retiring, she and her husband volunteered for a number of years, gardening and keeping the grounds for Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rialto. She was an avid crafter and the best Christmas Eve host. She knitted and crocheted for years, graciously creating many afghans, booties and koozies for family and friends. She enjoyed gambling, whether it was a card game at home or the slots in Vegas. Her strong faith in God was only second to the love and support for her children and grandchildren. Survivors include: one daughter, Pam Haywood; one daughter-in-law, Sheila Howard; seven grandchildren, Erica, Kevin, Shawn, Justin, Clint, Chad, and Brian; three great-grandchildren. Her husband, two sons, and siblings preceded her in death.
