Eleanor G. Villareal's Obituary
Eleanor was born on December 14, 1942, in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Maria and Viviano Gutierrez. She was the oldest of twelve children, with eight sisters; Anita, Celia, Lupe, Lola, Linda, Stella, Belle and Elsie and three brothers; Rudy, Bobby and Albert. In the 1950’s the family moved to Southern California.
Many years later, Eleanor had four children; Gloria, Joann, Rudy and Manuel.
During that time, she was a single, working mother.
In 1967 her sister, Linda introduced her to Jose Villareal, who was enlisted in the United States Air Force.
In the 1970’s Eleanor and Jose moved to Wichita Falls, Texas with her four children. They later married and had a child together; Jose Villareal, Jr.
In 1973 Eleanor, Jose and their children stationed through the Air Force to move to Zweibruchen, Germany where the family stayed for three years. They moved back to Southern California (specifically, Highland, California) in 1977, where the family settled down. From there, Eleanor was able to be a stay-at-home mom.
Throughout the years she was able to see her children, grandchildren (eleven) and great-grandchildren (thirteen) grow up and become amazing/ hardworking individuals.
She loved being around the family, talking with her sisters on the phone what is going on within such a big family.
She enjoyed shopping and going to the casino with her husband, and son Rudy.
Eleanor passed away June 14, 2025, knowing that she was loved and cared for by her children and grand-children. She will be truly missed.
