Edward F. Stapleton's Obituary
Edward F. Stapleton born August 13th, 1946 passed away suddenly in Running Springs on May 14th, 2014. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to Madeline Horst Stapleton and Edward Francis Stapleton, Sr.
He spent most of his life living in Southern CA, but had a special love for the San Bernardino Mountains. He spent much of his free time at his cabin in Running Springs. He recently retired after working for 40 years in the photography industry, most recently for Ritz Camera. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed taking pictures of wildlife and his family.
He was beloved by everyone who knew him. He served St. Anne’s in the Mountains Catholic Church as a volunteer for the Family Assistance Program, he was a Eucharistic minister, a lecturer and did much of the environment work for the church. He loved to volunteer, spend time with his family, travel, take pictures, tell jokes and stories. He graduated from Fermin Lausen High School, received his Bachelor’s degree from USC and Master’s degree from Long Beach State. He earned Phi Beta Kappa for his Mater’s in Business Administration Program.
Ed is survived by his wife, Diane, son Robert and daughter-in-law Ronita, grandchildren, Lauren and Lachlan, mother Madeline, father Edward and Ed's wife Rosemary, sister Cheryl and brother-in-law Warren, brother Mike and sister-in-law Sally, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the St. Anne’s in the Mountains' Family Assistance Program.
