EDWARD DAVID BARTON's Obituary
Edward D. Barton, 77 of San Bernardino, died Sunday, July 27, 2008. He was born on December 9, 1930 in Cleveland, OH. Ed entered the US Air Force at age 17 and proudly served his country for 24 years. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America for 65 years. He continued to serve his country as a member of American Legion Post 777. He was Commander of Post 777 and both Chaplain and Commander of District 25.
Ed is survived by his wife of 37 years, Arlene. Surviving children are Melodie Ventroni (Robert); Louis Barton (Deann); Scott Barton; Nancy Landers (Wes); Patricia Goates; Domenic Wager (Suzanne); Priscilla Romero (Mario); Monica Moniot (Brent); Theresa Barton; Loretta Gibson (Steve); Susan Filkins (David); and Janice Woods; 30 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Beverly Hammer; Arthur Barton (Beverly); and Janet Leavitt.
His special interests were Boy Scouting, collecting and sharing his love of music through the Big Band era of the 1940’s.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 31, at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA with funeral services on Friday, August 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Bobbitts. Interment to follow at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA., Staging area #2
