Edema Seymour's Obituary
Edema Giacopuzzi Seymour peacefully entered into eternal rest at home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 6, 2026, at the age of 95.
Born on January 3, 1931, in San Pedro, California, to Silvio and Erminia Giacopuzzi, Edema lived a life rooted in faith, love, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Throughout her 95 years, she touched countless lives with her joyful spirit, warm heart, quick wit, and remarkable strength. She found happiness in life's simple blessings and created a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that will continue for generations.
A devoted Catholic, Edema faithfully attended Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in San Bernardino, where she formed lasting friendships and remained deeply committed to her faith. Her relationship with God was the foundation of her life, and she quietly led by example, showing her family the importance of prayer, compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional love.
In November 1949, Edema married the love of her life, Charles Seymour. Together they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage before Charles' passing. Though widowed, her love for him never faded. She cherished telling stories of their life together, reliving treasured memories with anyone who would listen, and often spoke of the joy she felt knowing she would one day be reunited with him in eternity.
After dedicating herself to raising her young daughters, Edema enjoyed a successful 34-year career in the insurance industry. Her strong work ethic, determination, and resilience were evident in every chapter of her life.
Above all else, Edema cherished her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and dear friend whose love knew no bounds. Family gatherings were her favorite place to be, especially when they involved card games, board games, and endless laughter. She had an incredible sense of humor, a sharp wit, and a way of making everyone laugh. She was wonderfully stubborn, unapologetically honest, and never left anyone wondering exactly what she was thinking. Proud of her Italian heritage through and through, she lived by the philosophy that no one should ever leave her home hungry. Her joyful calls of "Mangia! Mangia!" became a loving reminder that food was her way of bringing people together and showing them they were loved.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Patsy Anderson and Sandy (Paul) Harris; her nine grandchildren, Christopher (Jamie), Leslie (Josh), Heidi (Fred), Andy (Alicia), Rhonda (Dave), Paul, David, Annie, Jeffrey (Daneen) ; her fourteen great-grandchildren, Sage, Kaylee (Robert), Bryce (Madison), Skyler, Carly, Keith, Joshua, Mariah, Charlie, Mario, Chris, Brendan, Jacob, and Cade; and her two great-great-grandchildren, Ava and Bryleigh. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all those whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Seymour; her parents, Silvio and Erminia Giacopuzzi; her four sisters; her brother; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and lifelong friends.
Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beloved Edema, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with Charles and those who went before her, and embraced in the eternal love of Christ. Her faith, compassion, strength, laughter, and unwavering love for her family will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.
