Earl F. Smith's Obituary
Earl (Smitty) F. Smith, 74, a native of Riverside, passed away in his Highland home on September 20, 2009.
Earl was a veteran of the Navy where he served honorably during the Korean War, followed by his time in the Naval Reserve. He worked in many aspects of the retail food industry, starting and owning his own snack food brokerage, E and E sales, which he ran successfully for 26 years. An avid participant in poker, fishing, skiing and racquetball, he also enjoyed owning and racing thoroughbreds at Del Mar, Santa Anita and Hollywood Park racetracks.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betsy; two children, Colleen Smith-Cincotta of Del Mar and Dr. Michael Smith of Encinitas, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Earl’s life will be held October 17th, at 11:00am at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E Highland Ave, San Bernardino. An on-site reception will follow.
