Dr. John Inglis' Obituary
Rev. Dr. John C. Inglis Jr., 78, died April 11, 2010 of complications from Parkinson disease. John served with the US Army 82nd Airborne as a Chaplin and paratrooper. John and his family came to CA in 1965 to serve on the staff of Pasadena Presbyterian Church. While in Pasadena, he served as president of Five Acres, a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. A resident of Redlands for 40 years, John retired as the Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church Redlands after 21 years and was a minister of visitation for the First Presbyterian Church San Bernardino for 8 years. John was an active volunteer in many service organizations including Spiritual Concerns Committee, the Adult Correction Advisory Council and Chaplain/Counselor for Juvenile Hall for San Bernardino County Probation and three years president of the Board for Family Service Association in Redlands.
Survivors include his wife Sally, 3 sons, William Scott (Elizabeth), John Mark (Debbie), David Heitzman (Donna), 3 brothers: William, George and Robert Inglis, and 4 grandchildren Jennifer, Taylor, Chandller and Baillee Inglis.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1900 N. “D” St., San Bernardino, CA 92405
Inurnment will be private at Riverside National Cemetery Riverside, CA
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church San Bernardino or Family Service Association of Redlands, 612 Lawton St. Redlands, CA 92374
