Donna Rose Brown's Obituary
Donna Rose Brown, age 91 (January 10, 1928 - March 19, 2019), died on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in BrightWater Senior Living, a memory care facility community in Highland, CA. She was born on a farm in Lowry City, near Kansas City, Missouri to Earl and Inez (Sherman) Cox and was the oldest of two children.
After her parent’s death, Donna, her husband, Harold Brown and sister, Gloria traveled to California. They lived in Huntington Beach for a short while before settling in San Bernardino, where they remained.
Left to honor Donna and remember her love are Donna’s sister, Gloria McCollum; two children, Tabitha Sherman (aka Debbie Hooker), Sandy Capes; grandchildren; Traci Capes, Mandy Ghattas, Michelle Stewart Gardner, Shannon Mead, Kyrsten Cunningham, Ethan Hooker; and eight great grandchildren, Christina, Titus, Dora, Peter, David, Katherine, Alex, and Tyler. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harold.
Donna's “Grandma” stories will always be remembered, adventures such as cutting through the field only to be chased by their bull, or their mom playfully throwing a biscuit at breakfast and it sticking to the newly wallpapered kitchen. Donna was a bright, shining light and we were lucky enough to know her kind, warm spirit and generous, joyful attitude. She will be missed.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Church on the Hill, 1445 Ford Street, Redlands, CA 92374, with Pastor Sam Pawlak officiating.
