Donald Gene Ware's Obituary
Don Ware, 86, of Highland, California passed peacefully on May 10, 2024 at St. Bernardine Medical Center. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Don was born on December 25, 1937, to Paul and Betty Ware, in Winterhaven California. He attended Fontana High School, where He met his wife Marilyn, and together they had 4 children and would have been married 70 years this July. He enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the world. He worked at Fontana Steel for almost 50 years. He started as a Rebar Field Ironworker at the young age of just 16 years old. He rose to positions of General Manager and President of Fontana Steel before he retired in 2000.
Those that have preceded Don in death are his father Paul Ware, mother Betty Plotner, sisters Kathy, Susie, Terry, and his daughter Cheryl Ware.
Don is survived by wife Marilyn Ware (Peek), brother Paul Dale Ware, children John Ware, Donna Rountree (Ware), and Paul Donald Ware. Grandchildren Justin Ware, Jenna Brady (Ware), Greg Rountree, Melissa Arias (Rountree), Donny Ware, Marilyn Ware, Monette Ware, Norma Ware, Veronica Brimmer and Erick Salazer Ware. He also left behind 15 Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday June 18 2024, 2 pm at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino, California. Following the Celebration of Life a reception will follow, info will be furnished at the service.
