Dear Mrs. Sapronetti:
I was disheartened to learn of Mr. Sapronetti's passing. Funny, I was just thinking about him this past Monday, unaware that he had passed. My sincere condolences to you and your entire family. I will never forget "Mr. Sapronetti." He hired me as his clerical assistant in 1981; it was my first employment when I moved to Calif. I learned so much from him about running a large department of more than 40 staff. He taught me everything I know about accounting for government entities. Don ran the department "by-the-book" and was always a stickler about state audits. He worked us all hard, but we grew as a result.

Mr. Sapronetti was my first boss and he made quite the impression on me. I worked in the Accounting Office at CSU, San Bernardino. There is one important piece of advice which he gave to me that still sticks with me today (in fact, I relayed this to someone just the other day) - he said, "Don't come to me with a problem unless you also have a proposed solution." I carried this with me throughout my working career in higher education. Thank you Mr. Sapronetti for being a great boss and mentor. I have never forgotten the role you played in my life.
