Donald Edward Ebert (Don) of Highland, California passed away on Tuesday, November
29th, 2022, at the age of 81. After several years of battling Parkinson’s disease and
months of declining health, Don died peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side.
Don was born in Alton, Illinois on July 2, 1941, to Raymond Ebert and Lizzie Izzora
Ebert. Don was the youngest of three and spent his childhood years alongside his sister,
Alberta and his brother, Bo.
In his twenties, while working for a saw mill company, he met his match, Wanda.
Wanda was the daughter of the sawmill owner. Don and Wanda wed after a whirlwind
romance on May 26, 1967 in Colton, California.
After legally adopting Wanda’s two children (Bob and Vickie) Don devoted himself as a
husband, father, and provider for his family. Don worked several miscellaneous jobs
over the years, opening a few small businesses until signing on with Omnitrans. He was
employed for 17 years before retiring in 2008
As a retirement endeavor, Don and Wanda purchased a RV and traveled all over the US.
Together, they spent two years traveling. Don enjoyed participating in Omnitrans bus
rodeos, trips to the movie theater, bowling, card games, gardening, basketball and much
more.
Don relished in his family life as a father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Don was
known to be one of the kindest, most gentle souls, a giving man who worked tirelessly to
ensure his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with
admirable strength and courage.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lizzie, His brother Bo, his sister
Alberta, his beloved wife Wanda, and his daughter Vickie. He is survived by his son
Bob, his brother in law Gary, his nieces, a nephew, his several grandchildren and many
great- grandchildren .
A visitation for Don is planned for Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, from 11am to 1pm
at the Bobbitt Memorial Chapel on 400 Highland Avenue, San Bernardino, CA. His
graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Montecito Memorial park and Mortuary on
3520 E. Washington st, in Colton, CA. All are welcome to attend.
