Despina Anagnostopoulos' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our most beloved Matriarch, Despina T. Anagnostopoulos (78) of Grand Terrace, California. Despina entered eternal life back into the loving arms of her husband, George on November 19, 2016. She and George were the owners and operators of The Bluff’s Restaurant in Colton for 35years until their retirement in 2005. Despina was a pillar of Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church and an active parishioner for over 50 years. She was also a dedicated member of the St. Irene’s Philoptochos Society and served her church in many other capacities. Despina was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother(Yiayia)and Great-Grandmother. Her presence and unconditional love will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
Despina is survived by her sons, Peter of Grand Terrace, Thomas and his wife Angela of Highland, Sisters, Tasia and Yiota both of Greece and three brothers, John and Harris of San Francisco and Spiro of Greece. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren, George Peter, Despina, Demetri, George Thomas, Dean, Evan, Despina and Athanasia and two great-grandchildren.
A Trisagion Prayer Service will be offered on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 7pm and the funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10am. Both services will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 1035 Inland Center Drive, San Bernardino, California, 92408.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Despina’s name to Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church or to the St. Irene’s Philoptochos Society, P.O. Box 311, San Bernardino, California, 92402-0311
