Delores June Yocum's Obituary
Delores June Yocum, a resident of Highland since 1955, died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019. She was 88.
Born on May 16, 1930, in St. Louis, she was a Pythian Sister and a member of the First Methodist Church of Highland.
Yocum was in a bunco group for several years. She volunteered at Norton Air Base during the Vietnam War to serve refreshments to the troops. She was a Campfire Girl Leader and worked for the San Bernardino City Unified School District in the kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years. William Yocum, and her grandson Tyler Yocum.
She is survived by her sister Juanita Leydon; daughter, Yvonne Johnson (Eric) and son Robert Yocum (Sharon); her grandchildren Lisa Kick (Sid), Erica Snyder (Robert), William Yocum (Debra), Matthew Yocum and Caitlin Yocum; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, Jan. 28, at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Vigil prayers will be from 2 to 6 p.m. and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside. Reception will follow at 4 p.m. at 7424 Lillian Lane, Highland.
