Darrell Edward Smith's Obituary
Darrell Edward Smith, age 67, passed away December 18, 2012 at his home in San Bernardino, California. Darrell was born November 7, 1945. He lived in San Bernardino, California all his life. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1963.
Darrell enjoyed NASCAR, old cars and woodworking. He made desks, rocking horses, gum ball machines and whirley gigs for his children and grandchildren which he loved dearly. He was retired from Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad after almost 42 years of service. His position was Conductor/Brakeman and he also taught new hire Conductors. He is a member of the U.T.U. Local 811.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Pamela of almost 28 years of marriage; his children: Don Smith of Bend, OR; Paul Smith of Redlands, CA; Kelly Smith-Fox-Haywood (Kevin) of Oroville, CA; and David Griffin (Jennifer) of Milford, VA. His grandchildren: Heather Smith-Kennard (Brett) of Hesperia, CA; Samantha Smith-Edwards of Victorville, CA; Kati Smith of Dallas, TX; Breanna, Corie, Zachary and Jacob Smith of Redlands, CA; Paige Fox and Brooke Fox of Oroville, CA; David Jr and Pamela Griffin of Milford, VA; and Melissa Griffin of Portsmouth, VA; great-grandchildren: Trevor, Leila and Reece; sister, Margaret Smith-Chandler (Ben) of Yucaipa, CA and many neices and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his Parents Donald Smith and Florence Powell- Smith-Wright; Sister, Donna Smith-Tite and Grand-Daughter Alexandra Smith.
