Claire Brissette's Obituary
Claire (Weidenfeller) Brissette 94, of Highland, CA; passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Redlands. Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 222 E. Easton St. Rialto, CA.
Claire was born in Wisconsin and was the middle child of nine including six brothers and two sisters. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and was an elementary school teacher. She moved to San Bernardino to teach in 1952. There, she met and married Russell Brissette in 1956 and was married almost 50 years until Russ’ death in 2005.
She was a wonderful and warm wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching, roses, traveling, and golf. She was a past president of the San Bernardino’s Ladies Golf Association. She was an intelligent and curious woman and she was a lifelong reader, loved solving crossword puzzles and watching game shows.
She was a spiritual person and an exemplary daughter of the church being an active member, teacher, and Eucharistic Minister in St. Thomas More Parish (St. John XXIII) while living in Rialto.
Claire is survived by her children, Mark Brissette, Paula Robinson, and Lynn Quinn (Karl), and two grandchildren, Nigel and Katie, sister Joan McGowen and brother Dennis Weidenfeller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the St. Vincent de Paul Fontana/Rialto Website www.svdpfr.org or to the charity of choice.
