Charles John Harris' Obituary
Charles J. Harris (Harry), 91, passed away on June 17, 2012 at Loma Linda Veteran’s Hospital.
Originally from Ohio, Harry had lived in the San Bernardino area since 1966. Harry proudly serviced in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 507 PIR, Company “B” in the 82nd Airborne Division invading Normandy in WWII. He was captured shortly after D-Day, June 6, 1944 and was a POW of the German government for 10 months.
Harry will be greatly missed by Erika his loving wife of 55 years and daughter Patti, sister in laws, Virginia Harris, Ursula Plemmons and Heidi Waechtler, his brother in law Karl Waechtler and numerous nieces and nephews, many treasured friends and Trixie too.
A special “Thank you” to Dr. Gonzaga, Dr. Hoxie and all the staff at the VA in Loma Linda, CA.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 24, 2012 from 4-7pm with a funeral service on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404.
