Cecilia D. Gianni's Obituary
Cecilia Gianni was born December 1, 1953 to Henry and Mary Ellen Drapeau of Lawndale, California. She passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023. Cecilia’s positive encouragement and support changed the lives of everyone who knew her for the better.
Cecilia received a Doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of the Pacific, Stockton. For over 30 years, she helped lead the Department of Pharmacy at Loma Linda Medical Center. In 1982, she donated a kidney to her sister, Teresa; and later married Stephen Gianni. Their daughter, Sara, was born in 1984.
Cecilia was a joyful, intelligent woman who met challenges with faith, often quoting St Padre Pio, “Pray, hope, and don't worry”. She was an advocate for special-needs persons, and an active member and supporter of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and School in San Bernardino. She enjoyed helping others, playing games and puzzles with family and friends, dinner theater, and traveling.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband. She is survived by her daughter, Sara; her aunt, Jeanne Callon; her brother-in-law, Mark Mansell; and many loving family members and friends, who will greatly miss her compassionate love, humor, and encouragement.
