Mrs Cathleen Marie Konyn's Obituary
Cathleen Konyn died suddenly at her home on September 20th 2016. Cathy was born December 24th 1957 in San Pedro, CA. A graduate of Aquinas H.S. in San Bernardino, she has lived in Riverside for the past 37. In 1980 she earned her bachelor of science in biology from the University of California at Riverside, working 30 years as a Medical Technologist for San Bernardino County/Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. She loved crafts, turtles, scuba and gardening. After retiring in 2010, she took up digital scrapbooking, spending the first two years of retirement recording her travels and life events. Always wanting to be a Master Gardener, she fulfilled this dream in 2013 and served as chair for the UCEE Master Gardener Program of Riverside County in 2015/16 and was currently serving as past chair.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 37 years Sam Konyn; sisters Melissa Carlone, Sharon Yocum and Maureen Clark; brother Michael Clark; nieces Valerie Baker and Kaitlin Yocum; nephews Raymond Carlone, Dannie Carlone, Mathew Yocum and Tyler Yocum; and loving dogs and best friends Lucy and Bam Bam.
A luncheon, reception will follow the Mass.
