CARROLL DALE SMITH's Obituary
Carroll D. Smith went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born in East Enterprise, Indiana to Harry and Dora Smith on June 19, 1928. Carroll is survived by Virginia, his wife of fifty-seven years; a daughter Lyn Williams; two sons, James (his wife Kimberly), and Timothy (his wife Deborah); 12 grandchildren and one great grand daughter; one sister, May Etta Bon Durant (and husband Charles); many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by a son (Stephen D. Smith), his parents and a brother. Carroll earned a Masters of Science Degree in education from Northern Illinois University. He taught 14 years in Illinois and 31 years in California, the last 30 years with Chaffey Joint Union High School District. He was a member of San Bernardino Church of the Nazarene having served on the church board for many years. He also served on the Valley Christian School Board for twenty years. CA 92405. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA, with funeral services at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Bobbitts. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA, staging area # 5.
