CALVIN DOYLE HOMER's Obituary
Doyle Homer 82, passed away on May 5, 2007 in Hemet, CA. Born in Lexington, Oklahoma, Doyle was a resident of San Jacinto for the last 2 ½ years and a former resident of Highland. He graduated from Norman, Oklahoma High School. He was a pitcher in Minor League Baseball and was recruited by El Paso Natural Gas Co. in El Paso, Texas because they needed a quality pitcher, later retiring as a mechanic after 28 years of service with them. He was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. Doyle was in the U.S Navy from August 1943 to May 1946 and enjoyed stamp and model car collecting along with woodworking and gardening. He is survived by his beloved wife Janet; son, Ron and wife Gay Rene Homer of Walnut Creek; son, Mike and wife Sheree Newman and their 4 children of Fountain Valley; sisters, Loretta and husband Owen Wilkerson of San Jacinto, Ann Roberts of Highland, Fay and husband Gordon Wark of Leesburg, FL, Katie and husband Tommy Smith of Athens, TX. Viewing will be held from 4–7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Chapel service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
