Brad was the firstborn of the Lundy grandchildren. I was second and the first girl. My most favorite memory is when we had moved to Muncie, IN in the fall of 1967. Mom, Sky and I came back to San Bernardino for the summer of 1968 to visit family. Oh, how we missed our family being 2400 miles away! I had just finished drivers training and had learned how to drive my dad’s VW bug. Brad just bought a Renault that was also a stick shift. Brad asked me if I wanted to take his car out for a drive. Well of course! Unbeknownst to me being a neophyte driver. . . VW is for on the floor and the Renault was 3 on the floor. . . . Yes, you guessed it . . I tried to go from 3rd to reverse. . .needless to say Brad was gracious about the whole situation but insisted I get out of the drivers seat. While all of this was going on Midnight Confessions by the Grass Roots was playing on the radio. The next day Brad and Uncle Bill checked the transmission fluid and there wasn’t a drop in it. . . .to this day every time I hear Midnight Confessions I think of that time in my life with my cousin. Thank you, Brad, for the memories. . . .💜
