Mr Blake Dean Boggust's Obituary
Blake Dean Boggust, 64, passed away September 30, 2015, aboard a deep-sea fishing boat in the Pacific Ocean.
He graduated from Colton High School in 1969 and was an electrician for many years at Kaiser Steel in Fontana, CA. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a talented guitarist.
He was a well-loved member of Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church. His multiple activities within the parish included compiling and editing the weekly bulletin, playing guitar and directing the choir at the Spanish liturgy; he was a volunteer coordinator of the “Get On The Bus” program, and group leader of the RCIA. Other activities as lay minister included officiating at graveside services, being a Eucharistic minister to the homebound, and to persons in rehabilitation facilities and convalescent homes. Blake had his finger on the pulse of the entire parish. As such, he became the “go-to” person for any and all problems involving everyday operations of parish facilities needing attention, including maintenance and repairs, fixing computers, opening gates and doors. Nothing was too large or small.
He is survived by three sons: Ryan, Nathan, & Brandon Boggust; a sister: Christine Mitchell; a niece: Rebecca Shupe: two nephews: Robert & David Shupe; and dear friends: Belia Zometa & family; Phil Bott & Betty Busch.
Viewing will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino on Oct. 8 from 5-7 PM. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Oct. 9th at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church: 796 W. 48th Street, San Bernardino, CA 92407. Interment will be at 11:15 AM at Mountain View Cemetery. There will be a potluck after the burial in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Blake’s Memory to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
