BILLY SCOTT FERRIS's Obituary
Billy (Bill) S. Ferris a former high school teacher and a long time resident of Highland, CA. passed away at his home on November 4, 2006. Bill age 79 was born on April 22, 1927 in Headrick, Oklahoma to Arthur Ferris and Annie (Inzer) Ferris. Bill moved to California and was a San Bernardino High School graduate. After serving in the U.S Navy during WWII Bill became a high school teacher for over 30 years. He taught electronics at Pacific High School from 1961 until its closing in 1983 and taught computers and math at Cajon High School from 1983 until his retirement. He also taught electronics at San Bernardino Valley College night school for 40 years. Bill is predeceased by his wife Windalene “Windy” Bonnie Ferris, brothers, Roy and Jimmy Ferris and sister Ora Davenport. Bill loved fishing and bowling and was an active volunteer at the Highland Senior Center for many years. Bill is survived by his son Larry (Nancy) Ferris of San Bernardino, daughters Gwen (Tom) Strawick of Springfield, Oregon and Joye (Stan) Criss of Highland, grandchildren, Todd Moore, Jennifer Couch and Jeremy and Janay Smolin and five great-grandchildren.
