BEVERLY "BEV" GEORGANNE BOWMAN's Obituary
Beverly G. “Bev” Bowman, 62, of San Bernardino, Fontana and Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Friday evening, December 12, 2008 with her daughter, grandson and best friend by her side.
Bev had a short (7 week) courageous struggle with stomach and colon cancer but constantly was surrounded with family and friends for loving support all the way through ‘til the end. Bev was loved by many people all over the world.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Glaser, 35; 2 Grandsons, Nicholas (Nick) Glaser, 14 and Jaden Fitzpatrick, 2; 2 granddaughters, Skye Glaser, 6 and Faith Fitzpatrick, 3.
She was born and raised in L.R., Arkansas and a graduate of Hall High School, 1964 then moved to San Bernardino where she met her husband of Oneida, NY and married the same year. She worked as a Medical Secretary for 20 years for Loma Linda Medical and for multiple Doctors and Surgeons throughout S.B. County and 15 years as Clerical Supervisor in the Dept. of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente, Fontana. Bev was a friend to everyone and had a heart of gold. She had too many friends to mention but two very close Guardian Angels stayed devotedly by her side offering their helping hands through the entire battle, June Meech of Redlands and Nancy Frederick of Fontana. Bev was widowed 3 years prior by her husband, Frank Bowman of 40 years whom also passed with a short (7 month) courageous battle with cancer. Bev played “Mom” to countless people, including from other countries. She was a “Host Mother” to exchange students, some of which remained close members of the family, Noriko Kashiwakura of Japan and Redondo Beach and Daniela Franca of Brazil. Bev has touched many lives and will be missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Interment will follow at 1:31 p.m., staging area #6 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside.
