Beverly Elsie Bentley's Obituary
Beverly E. Bentley, 81, of San Bernardino, CA passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010 in San Bernardino. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Linda Elliott) Bentley and Elizabeth Bentley both of Grand Terrace, CA, son, Robert L. (Rachel) Bentley of Lihue, Hi., grandchildren, Kimberly (Greg) Frasure, Christina (Donivan) Konno, Brian J. Bentley, Christopher Strand, great grandchildren, Ethan, Mokoa and Landon Konno, Oonaleyna Lind, 2 brothers, Thomas Conlon of Cumberland, R.I. and Edward “Ted” Conlon of Washington, Maine. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard O. Bentley, Jr. in Dec. 1990, 2 brothers, Lawrence and Joseph Conlon and a sister, Gertrude Swanson.
She was an avid dancer/teacher having the opportunity to join The Rockettes in New York City, but chose to marry the love of her life, Howard. She performed for the USO and was a member of the Dance Masters of America. She was born Beverly Elsie Crumb and later was raised as Beverly Conlon by her mother, Ethel and Joseph F. Conlon. She received her education and graduated from East Providence High School in 1945. Howard and Beverly married in 1946 and relocated to Southern CA in 1961. She began her 23 year career with General Telephone where she was a well-loved and respected administrator retiring in 1984. After her retirement, she was active in many community civic projects.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in the Courtyard at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA. Private inurnment at a later date.
