Betty M. Ward
87, of Highland CA, passed away September 25, 2014. She was born in Minnesota, on February 19, 1927. Betty married Orrin K. Ward in 1954 and lived in Massachusetts and Colorado until they moved to California in 1959 where they raised their family and lived out the rest of their lives. Betty served as a Bookkeeper/Office Manager for her husband’s Chiropractic Offices, for many years. Betty was a constant and faithful member of Del Rosa United Methodist Church, where she worshiped since 1959. Within these years she served as President of the United Methodist Women’s Club, Chair of the Memorial Committee and a devoted member of the Prayer Chain Committee. Betty made many lifelong friends and enjoyed playing cards, attending functions and writing letters to far away friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Orrin K. Ward in 1997. She is survived by her son, Steven Ward and daughter-in-law, Silvia Ward; daughter, Lynda Ward; brother, LuVerne ‘Johnny’ Johnson and sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson; 2 nieces, Debbie Setzer (husband Clay) and Joni Flynn; nephew, Rick Johnson; several more loved family members and her last hope and joy of 2 grandchildren, William Ward and Nicholas Ward. Mom, you were the most loving and giving woman God ever put on this earth and we were so proud and blessed to have you for our Mother. You will be missed by both family and friends every day! Services will be held October 2nd, at Bobbitt’s Memorial Chapel, San Bernardino, California, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held for family only, at Mt. View Cemetery, San Bernardino, California, immediately following service.
