BETTY JOANNE FINDLEY's Obituary
Betty Joanne (Sprague) Lewis Findley, 73Betty died Sunday, March 30, 2008 and was born July 3, 1934 in San Bernardino, California and moved to Riverside as an infant with her parents Ken and Lucile Sprague, now both deceased. She grew up in Riverside attending Magnolia Elementary, Central Middle & graduated in 1952 from Riverside Poly High School.Betty was very active in school activities and was a Job's Daughter. She attended and graduated Riverside City College with an AA degree. She was a cheerleader, active in theater, dance, and music and was a member of the Riverside Community Players, a theater group.
After College graduation she was an elementary teacher in the Riverside area for many years. Betty is survived by her four children: Ken, Andrea, Dan and Scott; seven grandchildren: Melissa, Mike, Riley, Trevor, Corie, Katie and Robert; ten step-grandchildren: James, Robert, Jaclyn, Heather, Samantha, Austin, Justin, Corrine, Crystal and David; nieces and nephews: Sally, Courtney, Mike, Vincent, Joey and Tommy; sister Barbara Mazzetti and brother, Bill Sprague, both of Riverside; cousins: Lucille Bishop of Colorado, Diana Dohl Loomis of Hawaii and Doug Sprague of Tahoe.Betty is also survived by her beloved husband, Bob Findley; whom she moved with 12 years ago to Coeur d'Alene where she was very active in her church and bible study, teaching and enjoyed taking care of Trevor and Riley. She was a past member of P.E.O. and sang in the women's barbershop group, The Sweet Adeline's.
Betty has always been a wonderful Christian woman, very giving of herself, always thinking of others with a great sense of humor. The children in her schools always asked for Mrs. Findley, "She is so much fun!" Her family and friends always knew her as a joy and a unique person to be with. When you were around Betty, you always knew there would be laughter. Betty left us unexpectedly; she will be greatly missed, but remembered well.. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Mt. View Cemetery, San Bernardino.
