Betty Robinson (Cooper) Davidson's Obituary
Betty Robinson (Cooper) Davidson
October 29, 1918 ~ October 5, 2011
“As long as the day lasts, let’s give it all we’ve got.” David O. Mokay
Five foot two, eyes of blue, packed with vim and vigor, too; our mother, Betty Robinson Cooper Davidson. Born in San Bernardino, California, Betty graced the halls of Elliot Elementary, Arrowview Jr. High, and San Bernardino High School, Class of 1937. One of her fondest memories as a child was the time she sold the most tickets in town to the National Orange Show, receiving a medal and free tickets to the show. In high school Betty was very involved in drama and she was offered a one year scholarship to The Pasadena Playhouse. Bypassing the theater, Betty graduated from the University of California Dental School and became San Bernardino’s first practicing Dental Hygienist.
Betty was married to Charles J. Cooper (deceased) for 27 years and they had three children.
Betty’s passion for adventure and travel led her to Bad Soden, Germany with the Champus Dental Program. Travels included Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, France, England, China, New Zealand and finally Peru, where, at age 85, she climbed Machu Picchu with her granddaughters.
When asked, “What do you credit your health and energy to?” Betty exclaimed, “Working and loving to live!” Betty was successful in accomplishing this throughout her life. At 65, Betty and her husband, Harry Davidson, created Superior Hearing in Sun City, California. Ten years later, Betty embarked on her “dream” profession of Real Estate, selling her last property at age 89. In Sun City, Betty was a member of Soroptimist International and The Center for Spiritual Living. She recently moved home to San Bernardino, residing at The Villas of San Bernardino. Our family wants to thank Betty’s caretakers at The Villas and Vitas Hospice for their loving care.
Betty is survived by her brother, Bill Robinson (Mickie) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son, C. Roger Cooper (Cathy) of Highland, CA; daughter Linda Tiger (Bill) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; daughter, Pam Pinkner (Frank) of El Macero, California; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
Betty loved her family and always encouraged them to expand their horizons and talents with the best of their abilities – in life, education, hobbies and “LOVING TO LIVE” in this exciting world. Betty was thrilled to be able to give financial support to help young people follow their dreams and she supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Betty’s Enthusiasm and love for life will be greatly missed!
Services will be held when friends and family can gather for a celebration of Betty’s life.
