Mr. Benny Aguirre's Obituary
Benny V Aguirre
The world lost one of its funniest, most caring, and an all-around beautiful man on December 22, 2015 with the passing of Benny V Aguirre, 84 of Highland.
While outwardly quiet, Benny was a man with wisdom and a witty sense of humor that affected everyone. Although a strong man, Benny was kindhearted and had a desire to put others needs before his own. He found great joy in making the people around him happy. Benny valued the simple things in life and came from humble beginnings.
Benny was born April 03, 1931 in Phoenix, Az to the late Luis and Ignacia Aguirre. Benny was the 6th child of 11. Benny is survived by 2 brothers (Don and Joe) and 2 sisters (Millie and Carmen).
Benny's life was one of hard work, adventure, and perseverance. From working the fields, to jumping freight trains to different states such as California, Wyoming, Montana to work at various factories, to eventually working over 40 years at Far West Meats (Highland, Ca.). Benny exuded what it meant to be a hardworking man.
Benny was fond of collecting stamps and coins, often passing down vintage coins to his children and grandchildren. In his free time, Benny enjoyed doing word puzzles, watching old Western movies, and reading the daily newspaper. You never caught Benny reading the newspaper without his ritual coffee and donuts. He loved coffee and donuts so much that his "post office" trips actually meant a second trip to the donut shop.
Benny was a loyal Los Angeles Dodgers fan. From attending the games in 1958 at the Los Angeles coliseum to attending opening week every year, Benny made sure he was at a game or made it home just in time to catch the game on t.v. He was happy to share those moments with his wife and children.
Benny met his wife, Mercedes in Santa Barbara while she was working at his family's owned restaurant. Benny would sneak a glimpse at her daily while pretending to read the newspaper. Through all the admiration from a far, it eventually lead to them becoming married and spending the next 40 years together.
In addition to his wife, Benny is survived by his 5 children, Marisela, Benny Jr, Richard, Jacqueline, and Kimberly, 5 grandchildren, Priscilla, Christopher, Maximo, Joseph, and Brooklyn and 1 great grandchild Juan Jacob.
