BARBARA LOUISE PURDY's Obituary
Barbara L. Purdy, surrounded by her family, entered into eternity January 30, 2007. She was preceded in death in 1972 by husband Loren C. Smith and in 1985 by husband Channing L. Purdy as well as her parents John and Sophronia Lunden. She was born in New York City and grew up in Vermont. In l961 she moved to Southern California and was a 42 year resident of San Bernardino. She was a devoted and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She retired from First American Title Co in 1994 as a Title Searcher and one time Title Officer. Before working in the title insurance industry, she had also achieved success as a licensed Real Estate broker. She was a voracious reader, an avid bowler, loved working in her garden and was a wonderful cook. During her lifetime, Barbara had been a member of the San Bernardino Jr Woman’s Club and the Norton AFB Retired Officer’s Wives Club. Those who survive her and will miss her dearly include her loving sons, Dana and Alan Smith of San Bernardino, loving daughter, Karen Chacon of Sacramento, brother, Paul Lunden of Brattleboro, VT, adoring grandchildren, Amber, Matthew, Nicole, Jason, Sarah, and 3 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 at 10:00AM at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave San Bernardino with burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery staging area #5
