August Thomas Lamantia's Obituary
August (Gus) Thomas Lamantia, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at home in San Bernardino. Gus was born in Toronto, Ohio and was a resident of San Bernardino for 57 years, and he was also a Barber in this community for 56 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, Knights of Columbus #905, and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, San Bernardino Lodge #836.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Margaret Szilagyi (Chuck) of Yucaipa, Dorothy Ware (John) of Highland, Trisha White (Danny) of Highland; 2 sisters, Theresa Wieclaw of Florida, Kathleen Elson of Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Danielle, Jenna, Jessica, Ryan, Ryan Lee, Erica; 2 great grandchildren, Darren and Kaydence.
Viewing will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, 2525 N. Arrowhead Avenue, San Bernardino. Committal Service will be held Friday, July 1, 2011, at 10:31 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area to be determined.
