Dear Maher family. News of your tragic loss has reached across the U.S. to Connecticut. I am sorry to hear about April. This past summer, my 11-year-old cousin, Gabrielle, was the victim of a hit-and-run. The pain our family felt was immense, but the show of support from friends, family and even strangers has helped us pull through. No words of comfort can replace our loved one, but the show of support helps the healing process. Even with the outpour of love the main source of comfort came from God’s word the Bible. In the Bible book of second Corinthians chapter 1 verse 3 it is said that our Heavenly Father is the “God of comfort.” Verse 4 says that he will comfort us in “all our tribulation,” so we may be able to comfort others because we’ve been comforted by God. It is so important to stick close to God during this time and to get to know him and what he really teaches so our hope of seeing April and Gabrielle can be assured.
