ANGELO MAZZA, SR.'s Obituary
Angelo passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda on November 2, 2006. He was a first generation American both his parents were born in Italy. He attended schools in Arizona and Rockford, Illinois. He served in the Navy, with the Pacific fleet during World War II, with an honorable discharge and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He owned a successful shoe business Angelo’s Shoe Service, which was located in San Bernardino for 58 years and another store located in Gardnerville, Nevada. He was passed Commander of the American Legion 777 and a member of the VFW. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, daughter, Gloria and husband Dr. Michael Kruetz of San Clemente, CA, sons Angelo Jr. of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Patrick and wife, Julie of Corona, CA, Michael and wife, Kristie of Reno, Nevada, brother Col. Jay Vargas and wife Dottie of La Jolla, CA, as well as eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Public viewing on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA Rosary is scheduled at Bobbitt Mortuary Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass is scheduled Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, 2525 N. Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino, CA Burial and presentation of military honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, at Staging Area #7 at 11:00 a.m. He was loved and respected by his family and friends, and touched even those he met in passing and will be missed by all..
