Alvin John Bradley's Obituary
Age 75, resident of Highland, CA for 40 years, passed away at home December 23, 2009. He was born in Hartford, CT, growing up in West Haven, CT. Retired after twenty-nine years with the USAF, followed by a second retirement from Riverside County Weight & Measures.
Most of his military career was spent with the Military Airlift Command, with recognition being given for logging over 15,000 flying hours. He served an overseas tour in Vietnam, also one in the Azores, and three consecutive years as a flight attendant on the crew for the USO Christmas Show tour around the world .
Big Al was an avid bowler after retirement chalking up two perfect games, two eight hundred series, and eleven strikes in a row, in the past decade. He also loved fishing, the beach, nature and travel. His gift was his quick wit and wonderful, genuine sense of humor. He made sure to get a smile or chuckle daily from everyone he met; outwardly, always joking and laughing, a true optimist.
Al is survived by his wife, Barbara of 53 years; sons: David and Duane; daughter’s Renee Mc Donald, Joyce, Patricia, Kimberly, Nancy, Bobbi Coleman; and a brother, Edward Bradley, along with eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Memorial Service: A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010; 10 AM at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel,1299 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino, CA; followed by a Graveside Service at Riverside National Cemetery; 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA, Staging Area #3, at 12:30 PM
