Mr. Alfred George Charlton, Jr.'s Obituary
Alfred George Charlton, Jr. age 76, passed on in Yucaipa, California on March 6, 2016. Born in Riverside, California on December 5, 1939, to Alfred G. Charlton, Sr. and Barbara Claudia Bain, he was a loving family man and a great friend.
Alfred served in the U.S. Army and was proud of his time spent in Washington, D.C. Al also was an avid bowler and in 2001 was inducted into the United States Bowling Congress, Citrus Belt Hall of Fame for Superior Performance.
A former resident of San Bernardino, he worked as a warehouseman at Arrowhead Magazine and then as a Human Resources Manager at San Manuel. He was also an Assistant Coach for his daughter’s soccer and softball teams and was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion, Post 421.
He is survived by his brother Richard Charlton and his wife in Elsinore, his sister Susan Adams of Riverside, his 2 children, Kellie (Charlton) Menendez and her husband Alex Menendez in San Francisco, Carrie (Charlton) Birch and her husband Kurtis Birch in Los Angeles, Bonnie Charlton, his former wife in San Bernardino, and their 3 grandchildren, whom he was very proud of. In recent years he had a long-standing relationship with Angie Baca-Marquiss, recently deceased, and was considered to be a part of their family. Al will be greatly missed and was loved by many. His family is very grateful to his loving caregiver Glorie Hannon.
