ALBIN ALFONSE ZEMAITIS's Obituary
Albin A. Zemaitis, 87, a native of Brooklyn, NY, and forty-five year resident of Highland, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008.
His career in aeronautics and missile logistics spanned five decades and took him to Europe, Africa, Iran, India and numerous states. He served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II. A pilot himself, he loved flying his own aircraft and volunteering with the Yanks Air Museum restoring aircraft and serving on the Board of Directors.
Al is survived by his son, John Demel; three grandchildren, Julie D. Trachta, Jeffery A. Demel and Mark R. Demel; one great-granddaughter, Preslie M. Mann; and a sister and brother-in-law, Johanna and Bob Dugan; and many nephews and nieces.
His wife of sixty-plus years, June, passed away in 2006, and his brother John, also predeceased him.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 30, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Avenue. The Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday, July 31, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Adelaide Catholic Church, 27457 Baseline in Highland.
