Robert Lee Jones (53) passed away September 22, 2017 at 5pm in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He is survived by his Wife, Mika Uehara Jones, they shared 17 years of marriage together; survived by his son, Robert and his wife Yoshimi; youngest son, Michael; grandson, Yamato; parents, Robert Lee and Merle Anne Jones; and sister, Leeann Jones Skorupski. Robert was born on November 8, 1963 in Hollywood, California. He lived and grew up attending school in Long Beach, California and graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Soon after, he joined the US Air Force and was stationed in Japan, where he lived for 10 years. After his move back to the States, he attended California Baptist University in Riverside, California and received his BS in Computer Science. He worked as a Aviation Mechanic for 5 years with Skywest Airlines and then he went on to work for the Justice Department in Washington DC. Lastly, he proudly served 21 years as a Police Officer for the Pentagon. During his entire life he was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the AMA. He and his father shared the joy of building and flying airplanes once he was big enough and able to hold onto a balsawood glider. Robert was an avid reader and curious about all things in science. He loved to play the guitar and was fluent in the Japanese language along with reading and writing Kanji. Politically opinionated, Robert enjoyed a healthy debate, with his wisdom and character, he never disappointed a worthy opponent.
